Of EURIMA members

EURIMA is the trade association representing all the major European manufacturers of fire-safe mineral wool insulation products. Mineral wool is the market-leading product in European thermal and acoustic insulation.

Better standards of thermal insulation offer a practicable and cost-effective means of reducing C0₂ emissions. EURIMA is therefore committed to an open dialogue with European regulators, authorities and other interested stakeholders in the development of environmental policy in general and in C0₂ emission reduction in particular.

EURIMA MEMBERS

Given the key role of mineral wool insulation in saving energy and reducing C0₂ emissions, EURIMA members are particularly aware of the importance of environmental protection. It is the declared aim of Members that they will take all reasonably practicable measures to meet or exceed environmental performance. Their aims are to:

• Comply with environmental legislation, regulations and guidelines related to the operating conditions of their companies in a co-operative and open spirit with the supranational, national and regional authorities.
• Assess the environmental effects of their operations in the supply of mineral wool products.
• Reduce the consumption of natural resources such as raw materials, water and fuels.
• Reduce the amount of waste produced and increase the use of recyclable and renewable materials.
• Avoid discharge of waste and industrial polluted water.
• Promote higher standards of thermal and acoustic insulation in the built environment in order to save energy and reduce C0₂ emissions.
• Inform customers and the public about the environmental performance of their products and their operations.

EURIMA members will foster environmental awareness in all employees, customers and the public. Members are committed to providing the best possible technical advice and assistance to customers on environmental issues arising from their products and services.
